February Grade 1 Guidance Lessons

This month in Grade 1, we have started talking about what it means to be a bully, a target, a bystander, and an upstander! We read the book 'One' by Kathryn Otoshi and discussed the different characters and which roles they were.

A Bully- is someone who hurts other's things, feelings, or body over and over again.

A Target- is someone being bullied.

A Bystander- is someone who stands by and watches bullying happen but does nothing.

An Upstander- is someone who stands up to bullying and tells the bully to stop!

The students loved the story and afterwards they had a chance to illustrate the characters. I can't wait to see what we learn next in grade 1!
